CG Govt. to provide special relaxations in competitive exams to SC, ST students

Chhattisgarh Government has decided to provide special relaxations in the competitive examinations fees for all entrance and recruitment examination conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board during 2014-15 for all categories of candidates including scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, other backward classes and general.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh informed that the state government has taken decision in favor of all categories of categories of candidates. Accordingly, 33 percent to 56 percent fee relaxation will be provided in all entrance examination while 31 percent and 54 percent relaxation will be provided in all recruitment examinations to be conducted by CPEB during 2014-15.
This will generate more opportunities of employment for the youths in the states in government service as per their qualification and in turn the state government will also get wide spectrum of employees to fill-up the vacancies existing in various departments.
The Chief Minister said presently Rs. 450 is charged as examination fees from OBC and general candidates while Rs. 300 is charged from SC/ST candidates by CPEB for entrance examination, which has been reduced to Rs. 300 for general category candidates, Rs. 250 for OBC candidates and Rs. 200 for SC/ST candidates from 2014-15.
Similarly, the examination fees for the recruitment examinations conducted by CPEB presently is Rs 650 for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 450 for ST/SC candidates, which has been reduced to Rs. 450 for general candidates and Rs. 300 for ST/SC and OBC candidates. Due to relaxation in the examination fees, the CPEB will have to incur an approximate loss of Rs. 8.65 crore.
